Our WORD  for Today Is: “T-A-L-E-N-T”

What is “T-A-L-E-N-T”? The ability to do something useful…… well, like to dance, sing, make a “joyful noise” like any music)……….. or even tell a story.  (In the Bible’s Old Testament, a  “T-A-L-E-N-T”  was a large amount of money; but that’s a story for another day.)  So let me tell you a story, that may also be called a  “T-A-L-E”.   To really enjoy a “T-A-L-E”  you need to listen closely and….Almost “drink it all in” because a good story should be “good to the very last drop.”

An  “A-L-E”is a tasty, different drink that can be sweet like ginger ALE or if a bitter brew, can also be “good .”   Jesus had a special “T-A-L-E-N-T“  and often taught simple yet great lessons using stories called parables.  Jesus always offered the best “A-L-E”or best drink of all……called Living Water.

Another look at “T-A-L-E-N-T”you notice “L-E-N-T” …… your gifts or Talents are from God, the Giver of all Good Things, gifts are “L-E-N-T”  to you (you do not own them), so that you might use them wisely to glorify God (as Jesus did everything to satisfy the Father’s Will).

One more look at “T-A-L-E-N-T” and its last three (3) letters.”ENT” which hints at the ENTrance or ENTry into God’s Kingdom….which can start right now when you accept Jesus’ Redemption on the Cross as His payment (TALENT) for your sin.  When you do that, only then can your

“T-A-L-E-N-T” be best used not for your fame, but God’s Glory.  So in that Final Day of Reckoning, then you will see Our Lord face-to-face.   Only because you have used your “T-A-L-E-N-T” well.  You will hear God say: “Bravo…..well done good and faithful servant.”

Thank God for each gift of TALENT you have. We Celebrate For His Glory.                                             fgt – 11/1/2010
